I have fallen in love with this place. The secure was as tasteful as the delusions food. I woke up the next morning CRAVING more! Reminded me of after church at family gatherings. Food was seasoned very well without being salty, greens didn't even need hot sauce at all. My only constructive suggestion was that the MacNChess noodles were a little soft for my personal taste. (But I ATE every single bite!) I love music just as much as food and their selection of old school soul delighted my spirit.
The Butterbutter cake...Almost brought a tear to my eye.
The servings are not for the faint hearted. I observed plates of pork chops and BBQ ribs being served at others tables that covered the plates. And everyone left with a member of the clean plate club.
I wasn't happy that the tea was non refillable but it needs to be served in limited quantities as it could be registered as a controlled substance. If I had been given free refills I would have drank a gallon and killed myself. It's that good. So sip slow and ENJOY. It's more akin to a wine (completely non-alcoholic) that you savor than the beverage you are used to drinking.

This place was GREAT... home style food and I didn't have to wash the dishes.
We were waiting for tires next door so no hurry and this place was a good break from the normal quick food. -

Very clean and nice place. The staff was super friendly but the food is absolutely NOT worth coming back for.
My green were swimming in the water it was cooked in, no taste.
I was expecting authentic, southern, soulful, grandma's Mac n Cheese but I hated the Mac n cheese. I wish I would have tasted the food before taking my to go order. I would have asked for a refund.
I hate spending money on unsatisfying food. Super disappointed. -

Straight up, simple, southern comfort food. Don't come in here expecting anything fancy or life changing. You're going to get what the name says. I loved the fried chicken even though some pieces were a little over fried. One of my thighs was perfect and the other had a little toughness. The sides are basic and yet so satisfying. I loved the mashed potatoes and mac. Nothing unexpected in either one. The greens were a bit watery but tasted right nonetheless. The pecan pie was sooooo good. Nice layer of pecans on top but sweet, soft filling all the way through until the crust. Their hot sauce is nice too. I'd come back for sure

Home style Kitchen cuisines bringing you a few flavors of the south. Great space open and clean with table service option. Serving up Fried Chicken, Pork Chops, Fish, Smoked Alabama Sausages, Baked Chicken and Meatloaf. Some items are available to be smothered in a thick roux gravy. Typical sides are greens, cabbage, yams and of course Mac & cheese adding a buttery cornbread muffin (oh yea) and top it off with Sweet Tea or Arnold Palmer - then you have your meal complete.
What I love: the open clean inviting space with VERY attentive table service. The waitress is always at your side and two steps ahead to ensure your dining experience is enjoyable.
The fried chicken / fish are well seasoned and the home style cut fries are a tasty treasure.
What To Know: Food options aren't plentiful your selections and if you are ordering fried chicken it takes 20 minuets to prepare (so plan accordingly)
The sweet tea is extremely sweet, if it's your first time (remember the attentive waitress) she's going to offer you a sample.
What I Don't Prefer: the roux gravy, it's a little to thick for my preference and the banana pudding was not tasty (go for the cake ) & the candied yams glaze could be more rich and flavorful. Paying for my complimentary refill of Half Sweet/Unsweetened Tea (that was a first for me) .
So if you are in the mood to pig out on southern fried foods with comfort food sides and you have time for the made to order meats, grab a seat and get comfortable - it's going to be good!
